A word you won't hear
The term nigger is now probably the most offensive word in English. Its degree of offensiveness has increased markedly in recent years, although it has been used in a derogatory manner since at least the Revolutionary War. Definitions 1a, 1b, and 2 represent meanings that are deeply disparaging and are used when the speaker deliberately wishes to cause great offense. Definition 1a, however, is sometimes used among African-Americans in a neutral or familiar way. Definition 3 is not normally considered disparaging—as in “The Irish are the niggers of Europe” from Roddy Doyle's The Commitments —but the other uses are considered contemptuous and hostile. - Dictionary.com
I think it's time to set the record straight: racists and nationalists are not the same thing, although two groups of people want you to believe they are.
- Racists are people who want a hierarchy of races, with lower serving the higher, and themselves accepted just for being members of the favored race;
- Nationalists are people who believe that culture is embedded in ethnicity and forms the core of every healthy civilization, so each race needs self-rule;
And never the twain shall meet, quite honestly. If you find yourself believing the problem with your society is a certain ethnic group, you've already bought into diversity and egalitarianism, but added an exception to the list. You've also become part of a cycle of injustice and compensation that just furthers the problem. Also, last but not least, you're wrong: the problem is not a specific ethnic group, but diversity, because diversity fails everywhere it is tried, even without the specific ethnic group you dislike.
Nationalism on the other hand is a philosophy of loving your own people, and wanting them to thrive, and realizing the only way civilizations thrive is by having a cultural, philosophical, ethnic and linguistic center or abstract goals and methods lexicon. Without that, society is basically a concentration camp enforced by government for the purpose of business.
Now, who are the people who want you to believe you must be a racist to be a nationalist?
- Liberals fear nationalism, because it replaces the idea of "equality" with the notion of every person having a purpose toward a social order;
- Racists want you to think that their way is the only way, and otherwise you're no one, because they are (as people espousing an illogical viewpoint) desperate and lack belief in their own ability to succeed;
Whose side are you on?
