Times that Clovis Man has be...So I read in the L.A. Times that Clovis Man has been reburied, much to the dismay of scientists who wanted further study. This reburial benefits Native Americans who maintain Clovis Man is one of theirs and further scientific study be damned. The politics of this is quite clear. If Europeans were the "first peoples" in the Americas, then it's not a stretch to figure out they were probably wiped out by another group, possibly the "Native Americans". This continual pattern of the strongest group conquering the less strongest group makes sense to me in my understanding of the history of man. It would put a nail in the coffin to those who love to champion the Native Americans as a victimized group of peaceful peoples who had been in North America since the beginning of time. This theory is prevalent in the school system: white Europeans are always cast as the evil, oppressors and the poor downtrodden Black, Native American and Hispanic peoples are morally superior.
